Soothing Coconut Oatmeal Body Lotion (exclusive)

Formula;

phase A

• 5% glycerin

• 1% allantoin

• 5% colloidal oatmeal

• 55.5% distilled water

phase B

• 10% jojoba oil

• 5% rosehip seed oil

• 3% lauryl laurate

• 3% ritamulse SCG

• 3% cetyl alcohol

• 5% mango butter

phase C

• 3% chamomile extract

• 2% coconut milk extract

• .5% liquid germall plus

Directions;

• combine all ingredients in phase A

• combine all ingredients in phase B in a separate beaker

• place both beakers in a water bath and heat to 158f/70c

• pour phase A into phase B and mix with an immersion blender

• once cooled to 100f/40c add in the cool down ingredients and mix

• pour lotion into a plastic baggie, cut off the tip and pipe into bottle of choice. This is a pretty thick lotion so you could use a jar if you prefer.

Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient

glycerin - humectant that draws moisture to skin

allantoin - has moisturizing, soothing, anti-irritating properties and stimulates healthy, normal tissue formation

colloidal oatmeal - helps soothe stressed, blemished and irritated skin and can even help relieve dry and itchy skin.

jojoba oil - moisturizes skin

rosehip seed oil - moisturizes skin

lauryl laurate - film former, stabilizes emulsions, offers a talc-powdery silicone like feel in applications, reduces greasiness of oily products

ritamulse SCG - all in one emulsifier. used to blend oil and water together and also thicken product to create a lotion consistency. is an ecocert emulsifier approved for organic formulations.

cetyl alcohol - is a thickener that brings slip and glide to our products. It gives a creamy feeling to the product, and it’s a great emollient.

mango butter - replenishes, moisturizes, and softens skin

Substitutions;

substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions.

• glycerin - 1,3 propanedial, sodium PCA, propylene glycol, sodium lactate liquid, any humectant of choice.

• allantoin - no sub

• colloidal oatmeal - oatmeal extract

• jojoba oil - any plant oil

• rosehip seed oil - any plant oil

• lauryl laurate - no sub but you can leave out.

• ritamulse SCG - emulsifying wax NF, montanov 68 MB, olivem 1,000, any all in one emulsifier

• cetyl alcohol - cetearyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, or stearic acid

• mango butter - any butter of choice or leave out and use an oil or replace with distilled water
