Snail Mucin Cream w/ Peptide, Collagen, Vit B3, & B5

All ingredients are considered “Natural” or Ecocert. (Check with supplier)

Directions;

  • In a sanitized container combine all the ingredients in phase A and set to the side. The Allantoin will not dissolve until we heat it up. 

  • Weigh phase A and write down how much it weighs (include the weight of the beaker) we are going to heat this up to 70°C / 158°F, this will cause some of the water to evaporate. We will replace this water loss later.

  • In a sanitized heat safe container, combine all the ingredients in phase B. 

  • Cover both phase A and B with foil and place in a water bath. (A water bath is a pan filled with an inch or so of water. Place your pan on your Stove Top on medium heat.)

  • Once both phases are heated to 70°C / 158°F, place Phase A on your scale and replace any water that evaporated. Also make sure the Allantoin is fully dissolved.

  • This is now the time you can pour phase A into phase B and mix with an Immersion Blender. 

  • Come back and mix periodically as your cream cools. Once it starts to thicken, do not mix with immersion blender anymore. Just hand mix.

  • While your cream cools, you can work on phase C 

  • In a sanitized container combine the Snail Secretion Extract, Tripeptide-29,  Saccharomyces Ferment & Leucidal SF Complete first. If you decide to not use any of these ingredients just make sure you have enough watery ingredients to dissolve both the DL panthenol & Niacinamide. After combining your watery ingredients add in the powdered ingredients and mix to dissolve. 

  • Then you an add in the Euxyl K 900 and pour phase C into your moisturizer once it is under 40°C/104°F 

  • Cover and let cool overnight.

  • The next day scoop into desired jars.

Distilled water - Diluent


Propanediol - humectant that hydrates the skin. Also helps suspend the Xanthan Gum Soft into the water so it does not chunk up and create fisheyes.


Glycerin - humectant that hydrates the skin. Also helps suspend the Xanthan Gum Soft into the water so it does not chunk up and create fisheyes. 


Allantoin - soothing ingredients 


Ritamulse SCG/ecomulse (INCI:Glyceryl Stearate & Cetearyl Alcohol & Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate) - all in one emulsifiers that blends oil and water together. - Learn more about emulsifiers HERE


Caprylic Carpric Triglyceride - light weight emollient ester that moisturizes the skin - Learn about Emollient Esters HERE


Sensolene® INCI: Ethylhexyl Olivate - natural silicone alternative to silicones like dimethicone


Snail Secretion Extract (INCI: Glycerin & Snail Secretion Filtrate) - According to FormulatorSampleShop.com “Snail secretion, produced by the Helix Lucorum, is an organic compound containing allantoin, collagen, elastin and glycolic acid. These compounds are highly beneficial in helping the skin appear brighter, smoother and more rejuvenated”


Tripeptide-29 (collagen peptide FSS) - According to FormulatorSampleShop.com “Collagen PrePeptide is pure (>99.7%) G-P-Hyp tripeptide produced synthetically, without the use of animal derived products or genetically modified organisms. With a molecular weight of 285 D it shows excellent bioavailability.”


Saccharomyces Ferment - a potent anti-aging ingredient, Increase Cell Respiration, Increase Cell Metabolism. increasing the production of structural proteins such as collagen and elastin.


DL panthenol - vitamin B3


Niacinamide - Vitamin B3


Leucidal SF Complete - marketed as a natural preservative, but it is not fully broad spectrum. It works more as a antimicrobial. I’m using it along side with my natural preservative Euxyl K 900. 


Euxyl K 900 (INCI: Benzyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin) - preservative




Substitutes;

These are only suggestions. Further testing needs done if you are using any substitutes. Substituting ingredients may result in the need to change the formulating process or recalculate the formula.


Distilled Water - Hydrosol, Floral Water, Essence Water, or Aloe Vera Liquid




Allantoin - chamomile extract


Caprylic Carpric Triglyceride - any oil of choice (a light weight oil will produce the best results)


Sensolene® INCI: Ethylhexyl Olivate - Dimethicone


Ritamulse SCG/ecomulse (INCI:Glyceryl Stearate & Cetearyl Alcohol & Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate) - all in one emulsifiers that blends oil and water together. - you can try another all in one emulsifier like, Emulsifying Wax NF, Olivem 1000, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG 100 Stearate, or any other all in one emulsifier. May need to change percentage amount.


Snail Secretion Extract (INCI: Glycerin & Snail Secretion Filtrate) - no sub, but you can use any botanical extract of choice


Tripeptide-29 (collagen peptide FSS) - your can use any other peptide of choice. 


Saccharomyces Ferment - you can use any botanical extract of choice


DL panthenol - no sub, you can leave out


Niacinamide - no sub, you can leave out


Leucidal SF Complete - any other leucidal product of choice or leave out.


Euxyl k 900 (INCI: Benzyl Alcohol (and) Ethylhexylglycerin) - - Euxyl K 903, Geogard 221 or Tristate Eco if you want to stay ecocert. Otherwise Liquid Germall Plus, Optiphen Plus, or Euxyl PE 9010 will work.
