You are perfect as you are and you do not need to get rid of your stretch marks to be beautiful, you already are! but I understand the feeling of being insecure about them, so hopefully this formula can help. This formula hasn't been tested on stretch marks, but it is formulated with ingredients that are said to help.
Formula;
phase A
8% glycerin
0.4% xanthan gum soft
47.1% distilled water
phase B
5% coffee butter
7% shea butter
6% cocoa butter
2% dimethicone
5% ritamulse SCG
6% cetyl alcohol
phase C
2% caffeine extract
5% vanistryl
5% actigym
1% bisabolol
0.5% liquid germall plus
Directions;
combine glycerin and xanthan gum soft in phase A and mix then pour into distilled water. (use heat safe container)
combine all ingredients in phase B in a separate heat safe container
tare scale and weight phase A. write down weight.
place phase phase A and B into a water bath and heat until phase B melts and phase A is around the same temperature (doesn't need to be exact)
once both phases are heated, tare scale and weight phase A again and replace any water that evaporated. (usually it's around 1 gram, could be more or less for you though)
pour phase A into phase B and immediately mix with an immersion blender.
come back and mix periodically as it cools. once it thickens, don't mix with immersion blender anymore.
once it cools to 100°f or under you can start adding in phase C
when you add in the vanistryl expect the lotion to thin immediately. also mix it in gently as in lathers a lot.
once phase C is fully incorporated check and adjust pH if needed. (the natural pH was 5.19 so no pH adjusting was needed, but still check the pH of your product.)
let sit over night and jar the next day.
note; the moisturizer stayed a thinner lotion texture for a few days after formulating. After about a week the lotion thickened into a thick cream, which initially was the texture I was going for.
Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient
glycerin - humectant that hydrates the skin and helps hydrate the xanthan gum and ULMW hyaluronic acid
coffee butter - smells like coffee and is made from real coffee seed oil. has excellent spreadability and pairs perfectly with caffeine extract
shea butter - could help reduce redness of stretch marks, help heal and strengthen the skin. soothes softens and moisturizes the skin.
cocoa butter - does not heal or prevent stretch marks as commonly believed, but can help with healing the skin by soothing, moisturizing, and is high in vitamin E
dimethicone - provides long lasting skin smoothness. increases slip and glide of emulsions and moisturizes the skin.
ritamulse SCG - all in one emulsifier. used to blend oil and water together and also thicken product to create a lotion consistency. is an ecocert emulsifier approved for organic formulations.
cetyl alcohol - fatty alcohol used as an emulsion stabilizer and opacifier. helps thicken lotions and creams and improves texture and feel. is also an emollient that moisturizes the skin.
caffeine extract - according to research can reduce swelling and tighten cellulite-containing skin when used daily and is an antioxidant.
vanistryl - combination of several active ingredients that treat the appearance of stretch marks already formed and to avoid the appearance of new ones.
actigym - Provides a general improvement in the appearance and tone of body silhouette. Mimics the effect of endurance exercise training with great results that are increased when combined with physical activity.
bisabolol - accelerates the healing process of skin and protects it from the effects of daily stress. great for sensitive skin and skin healing
Substitutions;
substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions. these substitution suggestions are just suggestions and have not been tested to work.
glycerin - propylene glycol, propanedial, sodium PCA or other humectant
coffee butter - a soft butter like shea butter or mango butter
shea butter - mango butter, coffee butter, or other soft butter
cocoa butter - any other butter, but since cocoa butter is a really hard butter try to use another hard butter like kokum butter
dimethicone - cyclomethicone or other silicone or silicone alternative
ritamulse SCG - a different all in one emulsifier like emulsifying wax NF, olivem 1000, montanov 68 MB, etc (haven't tested the formula with any of these, so keep that in mind)
cetyl alcohol - cetearyl alcohol, stearic acid, behenyl alcohol or other fatty alcohol or fatty acid.
vanistryl - no sub, main ingredient targeting stretch marks
caffeine extract -another main ingredient combating the stretch marks.
actigym - no sub, but you can leave out
bisabolol - no sub, but chamomile extract or allantoin are both soothing just like bisabolol
