I get a lot of requests for my products formulated for oily acne prone skin. So here you go :) This moisturizer is perfect for oily skin and acne prone skin. Since this moisturizer is oil free it is perfect for those of you who try to avoid oils in their cosmetics. It is also formulated with chamomile, aloe, willow bark, and witch hazel which are all great for soothing the skin, calming inflammation and battling acne.

Here is my formulation.
water phase
42% distilled water (substitute w/ a hydrosol or aloe vera liquid)
20% aloe vera liquid (substitute w/ a hydrosol or distilled water)
10% chamomile hydrosol (substitute w/ distilled water, could also use chamomile extract in the cool down phase instead)
2% oat protein (substitute w/ a different hydrolyzed protein)
2% panthenol
.5% allantoin
2% niacinamide
oil phase
5% emulsifying wax nf (substitute w/ a different emulsifier)
4% cetyl alcohol (substitute w/ a different emulsifier)
cool down phase
2% witch hazel extract - (substitute w/ normal witch hazel in the water phase)
.5% liquid germall plus (substitute w/ a different broad spectrum water soluble preservative)
ph balancing
Make sure you check and adjust the ph to around 6. Watch my video here to learn how
Directions;
Begin by weighing out the water phase and the oil phase in two separate beakers. Take note of how much the water phase weighs. Create a double boiler by filling a pan with half an inch of water and placing both beakers in the pan. Cover both beakers with aluminum foil and heat both phases to 158 degrees fahrenheit and hold for 20 minutes. Weigh your water phase again and replace any water that had evaporated. Now it is time to emulsify both phases together. Pour your water phase into the oil phase (never the other way around) then immediately mix with an immersion blender. After mixing come back and mix every couple minutes as the formulation cools. Once it has returned to room temperature add in your cool down ingredients. Give your formulation one last good mix and you are done! Now it is time to package your moisturizer!
