Cherry Rose Jelly Face Scrub (Exclusive)

Formula;

phase A

  • 15% glycerin

  • 2% xanthan gum soft

phase B

  • 65% distilled water

  • 10% rose hydrodol

  • 2% FSS Acerola BioFerment

  • 0.5% liquid germall plus

phase C

  • 1% oliveM 300

  • 0.5% SuperScents Cherry

phase D

  • 4% bamboo stem powder


300 gram recipe;

phase A

  • 45 g glycerin

  • 6 g xanthan gum soft

phase B

  • 195 distilled water

  • 30 g rose hydrodol

  • 6 g FSS Acerola BioFerment

  • 1.5 g liquid germall plus

phase C

  • 3 g oliveM 300

  • 1.5 g SuperScents Cherry

phase D

  • 12 g bamboo stem powder


Directions;

  • Combine all ingredients in phase A and mix.

  • In a separate container combine all ingredients in phase B and mix.

  • In another separate container combine both ingredients in phase C and mix.

  • Pour phase C into phase B while mixing until fully incorporated.

  • Then pour phase phase B/C into phase A and mix until thickened & gelled.

  • Add in phase D ingredients and mix

  • Check and adjust pH to 4.5 - 5.5 then pour into desired container.

- I used a few drops of a red water soluble dye & a pink water soluble dye to get a deep pink color.

pH adjusting; natural pH of 9.88 & used 5 drops of a 50% citric acid and 50% distilled water solution to get the pH down to 5.33. You want a pH between 4.5-5.5


Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient

glycerin - humectant that hydrates the skin. In this formula it is being mixed with the xanthan gum soft to help prevent clumping. Xanthan gum clumps when it comes into contact with water. So if we mix it with glycerin first it helps prevent the clumping.

xanthan gum soft - thickener and gels jelly mask. Key ingredient to get that jelly texture.

rose hydrodol - adds a scent of roses and fits the cherry rose story.

FSS Acerola BioFerment - fermented cherries high in antioxidants. Helps promote and bright, healthy, and radiant complexion.

liquid germall plus - preservative for aqueous formulas

oliveM 300 - water soluble, but has moisturizing benefits for the skin. you can use in water based formulations to add a moisturizing effect. Also works as a solubilizing agent, which is its purpose in this formula. It helps solubilize the oil soluble superscents cherry into the rest of the formula which includes water based ingredients.

SuperScents Cherry - a scented cherry extract. Smells so good and the scent is a powerful scent. You don't need to use a lot. This is oil soluble.

bamboo stem powder - fine powder exfoliant


Substitutions;

substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions. these substitution suggestions are just suggestions and have not been tested to work.

xanthan gum soft - siligel, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, sepimax zen (you may need to use these at different percentages. So do experiments.)

rose hydrosol - distilled water or other hydrosol.

FSS Acerola BioFerment - no sub, but you can leave out or use another water soluble ingredient like a water based extract or other fermented ingredient that is water soluble you like.

liquid germall plus - euxyl k 903, euxyl PE 9010, tristate ECO, geogard ECT or other water soluble preservative of choice

SuperScents Cherry - no sub. unless you want to use a cherry fragrance oil or a different superscents.

bamboo stem powder - jojoba castor beads, jojoba pearls, pumice powder or other non water soluble exfoliant (sugar and salt will dissolve)
