Milky Oil Waterproof Makeup Remover Inspired by Glossier + Natural/ECOCERT Version (EXCLUSIVE 8/26)
Directions;
In a sanitized container mix together the phase A ingredients.
In another sanitized container, mix together the phase B ingredients. (The PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil takes a bit to mix into the water.)
Pour phase B into A then pour into desired bottle.
If filling multiple bottles, be sure to mix your product really well before pour into the bottles.That way each bottle gets equal amounts of water and oil.
Benefits/Uses of Ingredients;
Cyclopentasiloxane - a very light weight volatile silicone used as an emollient in cosmetics for it’s non greasy skin feel. Great for waterproof makeup removers because it breaks up the makeup while not feeling greasy.
Isohexadecane - commonly used in waterproof makeup removers because it is great at breaking up makeup while feeling light weight and non greasy.
Distilled Water - diluent
PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil - non ionic surfactant that helps with washing away the oil and makeup from skin.
Glycerin - humectant to hydrate the skin.
Cucumber Seed Oil - adds story to your product.
Campo Pink, Hydrophilic (INCI: Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Aqua, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Betaine, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract) - combination of plant extracts to color product pink.
Geogard ECT / Preservative Eco (INCI Name: Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, Sorbic Acid) - ECOCERT/COSMOS compliant Preservative
Substitutes;
These are only suggestions. Further testing needs done if you are using any substitutes. Substituting ingredients may result in the need to change the formulating process or recalculate the formula.
Distilled Water - Hydrosol, Floral Water, Essence Water, or Aloe Vera Liquid
PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil - SYMBIOSOLV CLEAR PLUS / aka FSS SuperSolv, Caprylyl Capryl Glucoside
Cucumber Seed Oil - any oil of choice.
Campo Pink, Hydrophilic (INCI: Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Aqua, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Betaine, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract) - any water soluble pigment or plant extract of choice.
Geogard ECT / Preservative Eco (INCI Name: Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, Sorbic Acid) - any water soluble board spectrum preservative of choice. Euxyl K 701, Euxyl k 700 / Preservative K, Euxyl K 703, Euxyl K 900, Euxyl K 903 / Preservative K903
Optiphen Plus / Phenoxyethanol SA / Preservative – Sorbic Acid +2 PF, Opitphen / TRIstat PCG90, Liquid Germall Plus / Germall Plus Powder. Should all work.
