Formula;
phase A
50% distilled water
4% glycerin
phase B
5% shea butter
10% rosehip oil
phase C
10% distilled water
2% dl panthenol
2% oat protein
phase D
.5% vitamin e oil
Directions;
start by combining all ingredients in phase A in one beaker and all ingredients in phase B in another beaker.
heat both phases until everything has melted and they are around the same temperature. Do not heat phase A past 80°c (176°F) The reason we are adding the ceramide complex in the heated phase rather than the cool down phase is because ceramide complex has a tendency to thin out emulsions when added during the cool down phase.
while phase A & B are heating combine ingredients in phase C and mix until dl panthenol has dissolved. Then you can add in ingredient from phase D.
Once phase A & B are heated pour phase A into phase B and mix with a high sheer mixer.
Let cool to 40°c and add in the phase C/D mixture.
Let return to room temperature then put your moisturizer in a jar.
ph adjusting; natural ph falls around 5.9. This is perfect at retinol is most active in ph levels between 5.5-6.0 so no ph adjusting was needed.
