Shaving Gel (exclusive)

Formula;

Directions;

  • first combine the distilled water and chamomile hydrosol.

  • sprinkle guarcat on top and mix until dissolved

  • the guarcat can be hard to dissolve fully. Just keep mix until it does.

  • once guarcat dissolved fully add in the rest of the ingredients and mix.

  • check ph and balance between 4.5-5.5

  • let sit until tomorrow then package in desired bottle.

Natural PH of product - 5.32 No ph adjustments needed. Be sure to check the ph of your product. PH can be different depending on where you buy your ingredients and if you make any adjustments to the recipe.


Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient

chamomile hydrosol - It is one of the most gentle anti-inflammatory's of all the hydrosols. Well known for its healing, soothing, effect on skin.

guarcat - cationic gelling/thickening agent. Helps condition skin and add slip to shaving gel.

glycerin - humectant that hydrates skin

liquid germall plus - preservative

plantapon LGC sorb - blend of anionic surfactant, Adds a bit of lather and cleanse to shaving gel


Substitutions;

substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions.

  • chamomile hydrosol - distilled water or any hydrosol or essence water

  • guarcat - no sub. You could use xanthan gum, but the shaving gel won't have as much slip.

  • glycerin - 1,3 propanedial, sodium pca, sodium lactate liquid, propylene glycol

  • liquid germall plus - any other water soluble broad spectrum preservative. Euxyl PE 9010, optiphen plus, optiphen.

  • plantapon LGC sorb - any other surfactant. AOS 40, coco betaine, coco glucoside, foaming apple, etc.
