Sensitive Intimate Wash Inspired by Honey Pot (Exclusive)

 Directions;

  1. Combine all ingredients in order, mixing after the addition of each one. Make sure you mix the Disodium EDTA until it fully dissolves.

  2. Check and adjust pH to 4 - 4.5 *(can be as low as 3.5)

  3. Pour into a foaming pump (this formula is designed for Foaming Pump Bottles only.)

Troubleshooting

How do I check and adjust pH?

My wash isn’t clear like yours, why?

  • If you added in any fragrance oils, essential oils, used a different preservative, or used different Surfactants, that is probably why.

Do I need to use a chelating agent?

  • If you are just formulating for yourself and you are a beginner, you can skip it. But if you are selling, I recommend adding one.

What can I used instead of Poly Suga Mulse D9 (INCI: Sorbitan Oleate Decylglucoside Crosspolymer)?

How would I add in Essential oils or fragrance oils?

  • Mix these with the Poly Suga Mulse D9 separate from everything else first! Then proceed as normal with formulation directions. (May need to increase the percentage of Poly Suga Mulse D9 to 10% if using 1-2% fragrance oils or Essential Oils’s.

Is this formula Natural?

  • Nope.

  • Ingredients with * next to them are Natural.

  • - My definition of natural compiles with what the EU considers Natural based on Information I learned from the IPCS course. Natural means - an ingredient directly sourced from nature with minimal, or no physical changes. Natural does not mean Organic.

Benefits/Uses of Ingredients;

*Propanediol - Humectant that hydrates the skin

Propylene Glycol - Humectant that hydrates the skin

Phenoxyethanol & Ethyhexylglycerin - Broad Spectrum Preservative (aka Euxyl PE 9010)

*Poly Suga®Mulse D9 (INCI: Sorbitan Oleate Decylglucoside Crosspolymer) - Non-Ionic Foaming Agent, Solubilizer. Adds gentle foam and lather to product and helps solubilize the preservative.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine - Amphoteric Foaming Agent. Helps boost foam and lather.

*Distilled Water - Diluent

*Rose Hydrosol - adds a fresh natural scent.

Disodium EDTA - Helps boost preservative, reduces soap scum, and over all creates a more stable high end product.

These are only suggestions. Further testing needs done if you are using any substitutes. Substituting ingredients may result in the need to change the formulating process or recalculate the formula.

*Propanediol - Propylene Glycol or other humectant of choice (I’ve heard not to use glycerin in feminine washes, not sure how true that is, but wanted to mention it just in case)
