Its summer the sun is shinning and sun burns are just trying to get you. I'm a pretty pale person, I burn very easily. So in the summer time I like to avoid ingredients that make my skin extra sensitive to the sun such has AHA retinol. Unfortunately my favorite serum contains retinol so I haven't been able to use it. This is why I decided to make this serum. This serum is not only anti aging, but moisturizing, soothing, pluming, and firming. So lets take a look at the formulation and some substitutions.

Formula;
water phase
40% aloe vera liquid - (substitute w/ a hydrosol, or distilled water)
26% rose water - (substitute w/ a hydrosol, aloe vera liquid, or distilled water)
4% 1,3 propanedial - (substitute w/ glycerin)
2% dl panthenol
2% niacinamide
1% allantoin
4% leucidal sf complete - (substitute w/ liquid germall plus, optiphen plus, optiphen, geogard ultra, or another water soluble broad spectrum preservative. make sure you are using recommended usage rate)
5% cucumber Extract - (substitute w/ cucumber hydrosol)
5% chamomile extract - (substitute w/ chamomile water)
5% mushroom extract - (substitute w/ a different extract with anti aging benefits)
5% dragon fruit extract - (substitute w/ a different extract with anti aging benefits)
Directions;
measure and combine all ingredients except for the hyaluronic acid
mix everything together
weigh hyaluronic acid and mix in as much as possible or just leave settled on top of formulation.
cover and let sit for at least 3 hour (I usually let it sit over night)
mix formulation together and let sit again for another hour
formulation should be smooth and all the hyaluronic acid should now be hydrated into the water and you should be left with a smooth gelled product
package serum in a pump bottle or dropper bottle
Benefits of each ingredient;
aloe vera liquid - soothing, hydrating, and calming to the skin. can even help with acne
rose water - great for dry and mature skin types, gives your product a lovely rose scent and is a great ingredient for soothing the skin.
1,3 propanedial - moisturizes the skin and helps alleviate the greasiness some may find that glycerin causes
dl panthenol - has deep penetrating characteristics which provide excellent humectant benefits for restoring and maintaining natural skin moisture.
niacinamide - very effective skin-restoring ingredient that offers multiple benefits for aging skin. Among these benefits is the ability to visibly improve the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines, dullness, and helps improve the overall appearance of the skin.
allantoin - has moisturizing, soothing, anti-irritating properties and stimulates healthy, normal tissue formation
chamomile extract - has anti-inflammatory properties and helps soothe skin from irritation
cucumber Extract - soothes skin, moisturizing, has vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B6, thiamin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and manganese.
mushroom extract - has anti-aging benefits, helps firm the skin, & increase cell turnover
dragon fruit extract - has vitamin c, full of antioxidants, anti aging, firming, wound healing, soothing and moisturizing
leucidal sf complete - preserve's product
hyaluronic acid - is the natural gel between skin cells that serves as a water reservoir for the cells. As we age, skin loses hyaluronic acid and the ability to hold sufficient water in this reservoir. Feeding new hyaluronic acid to skin may help hydrate skin's inter-cellular reservoir, raising skin's moisture level, and smoothing down age lines.
