Cherry Rose Peptide Essence (exclusive)

Essences are the newest addition to the toner family. Essences got popular due to k beauty and are uniquely Korean. There are two types of essences. The first preps your skin. You use it after cleansing and its water based which preps your skin for better absorption of other products. It also usually has a high concentration of fermented ingredients. (this is the type I'm making) The second type is a toner and serum like hybrid. It can target specific skin concerns while also keeping your skin hydrated. Essences usually contain galactomyces or saccharomyces ferment filtrate, which are yeast-based filtrates that help address a lot of skin concerns; oiliness, acne, uneven texture and premature aging.

After cleansing your skin it's in its most vulnerable state. This essence will help replenish your skin of moisture and hydration while also delivering vital nutrients, vitamins, and fermented ingredients to the skin.

How to use: Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and pat into skin until dry. Once dry follow with your normal skincare routine.

  • 0.05% ULMW hyaluronic acid

phase B

  • 78.25% distilled water

  • 10% rose hydrosol

  • 1% Organic Cherry Juice FD

  • 2% FSS Acerola BioFerment

  • 2% Saccharomyces Ferment

  • 1% Hexapeptide 1 ECT

  • 0.5% liquid germall plus

  • 0.2% sodium carbomer

200 gram recipe;

phase A

  • 10 grams propanediol

  • 0.1 grams ULMW hyaluronic acid

phase B

  • 156.5 grams distilled water

  • 20 grams rose hydrosol

  • 2 grams Organic Cherry Juice FD

  • 4 grams FSS Acerola BioFerment

  • 4 grams Saccharomyces Ferment

  • 2 grams Hexapeptide 1 ECT

  • 1 grams liquid germall plus

  • 0.4 grams sodium carbomer

Directions;

  • Combine both ingredients in phase A and mix.

  • In the same container add in all the ingredients together in phase B, but make sure the cherry juice FD is dissolved before adding in the sodium carbomer.

  • after adding in the sodium carbomer you will notice it chunks up. Mix periodically to help dissolve sodium carbomer.

  • Once the sodium carbomer is dissolved check pH. pH should be around 6, if not you may need to raise or lower the pH. sodium carbomer is active in a pH around 6 so this is why we need a pH of 6.

Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient

propanediol - humectant that hydrates skin

ULMW hyaluronic acid - plumps skin, hydrates skin, reduces fine lines & wrinkles, and is naturally found in skin.

rose hydrosol - adds a scent of roses and fits the cherry rose story.

Organic Cherry Juice FD - a freeze dried juice powder that can be dissolved into water and used in cosmetics. Cherries are said to be high in antioxidants and vitamins A,B, & C

FSS Acerola BioFerment - fermented cherries high in antioxidants. Helps promote and bright, healthy, and radiant complexion.

Saccharomyces Ferment - a potent anti-aging ingredient, increase cell respiration, increase cell metabolism. increasing the production of structural proteins such as collagen and elastin.

hexapeptide 1 ECT - great for a variety of anti-aging benefits, improves skin hydration, improves skin tone. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is cultured in an amino acid rich environment; following fermentation FSS Hexapeptide 1 is isolated using various filtration techniques. FSS Hexapeptide 1 may be useful for a variety of anti-aging benefits such as increasing skin tone and elasticity and may also improve skin hydration. FSS Hexapeptide 1 may also increase ATP synthesis. Overall cellular efficiency may be increased by improving the cell’s ATP levels. (according to FSS)

liquid germall plus - preservative for aqueous formulas

sodium carbomer - pre-neutralized synthetic polymer, gels & thickens water.

Substitutions;

substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions. these substitution suggestions are just suggestions and have not been tested to work.

ULMW hyaluronic acid - any hyaluronic acid should work, but keep in mind that the higher the weight of HA the more it will thicken the product. You could try using a high molecular weight HA instead of carbomer too. You could also just leave this out.

rose hydrosol - distilled water or other hydrosol.

Organic Cherry Juice FD - no sub, but you can leave out or use other juice FD powder.

FSS Acerola BioFerment - no sub, but you can leave out or use another water soluble ingredient like a water based extract or other fermented ingredient that is water soluble you like.

Saccharomyces Ferment - leave out or use a water soluble extract of choice or other water soluble fermented ingredient. Check out other fermented ingredients here

hexapeptide 1 ECT - any peptide like pea peptide, or collagen prepeptide PF, formulator sample shop carries a lot of different peptides.

liquid germall plus - euxyl k 903, euxyl PE 9010, tristate ECO, geogard ECT or other water soluble preservative of choice. A lot of these options I mentioned may have issues mixing into watery solutions like this essence so mix them with the propanedial first and if it separates then you may need to add in a solubilizer like polysorbate 20 or oliveM 300

sodium carbomer - xanthan gum, sepimax zen, caesalpinia spinosa gum, or other gum/gelling agent.
