Cucumber Jelly Eye Mask

Formula;
phase A
.5% allantoin
72.5% distilled water
2% dl panthenol
phase B
5% glycerin
10% cucumber water
3% regu-age PF
Directions;
begin by weighing out the allantoin and distilled water in phase A
heat to 120°F (49°C). keep an eye on it until allantoin dissolves. Don't let it get too hot.
once cooled add in the dl panthenol and mix in until dissolved.
grab a separate beaker and begin weighing out the euxyl pe 9010 and glycerin in phase B. mix together
next add in xanthan gum clear and mix until it's hydrated into the glycerin.
now you can add in the rest of the ingredients in phase B in any order.
pour phase A into phase B and mix until you have a jelly mixture. It helps to use a mini mixer to make sure everything is fully mixed together.
bottle up your jelly eye mask and you are done!
PH adjusting; Products natural ph is 6.09. I added in 2 drops of a 40/60 diluted solution of citric acid to get the ph down to 5.29
Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient
allantoin - has moisturizing, soothing, anti-irritating properties and stimulates healthy, normal tissue formation.
dl panthenol - provides excellent humectant benefits for restoring and maintaining natural skin moisture.
glycerin - humectant and solubilizes euxyl PE 9010
euxyl PE 9010 - preservative
xanthan gum clear - creates jelly consistency
cucumber water - can be used in soothing and cooling skin care applications and offers a very nice refreshing scent of cucumber
regu age PF - reduces dark circles and puffiness around the eyes. strengthen the connective tissue & reduces inflammation and prevents UV damage
licorice extract - has a gentle brightening and soothing action. it helps fade sun damage and hyper-pigmentation safely for all skin tones, while blocking melanin production to prevent more from forming.
witch hazel extract - anti-inflammatory benefits, helps relieve puffiness, and soothes the skin
Substitutions;
allantoin - no sub, but you can just leave it out or add in a different soothing ingredients
glycerin - propanedial 1,3
euxyl pe 9010 - optiphen plus, liquid germall plus, leucidal sf complete, etc. any water soluble broad spectrum preservative that works in this formula
xanthan gum - sepimax zen, siligel, hyaluronic acid HMW or another gelling ingredient.
dl panthenol - no substitutes, but you could leave out and use a different moisturizing ingredient like hydrolyzed proteins.
cucumber water - cucumber extract
regu age PF - Don't know any sub.
licorice extract - a different extract
witch hazel extract - use witch hazel hydrosol in place of some of the distilled water
note: other ingredients that help fade dark spots that could help with dark circles; Alpaflor Gigawhite & alpha-arbutin so you could use one of these in place of the regu-age PF and licorice extract, but it still won't offer all the same benefits, but kinda close.
