Shimmer Body Oil for Light, Medium & Dark Skin types

All ingredients in this formula are naturally derived or Ecocert approved.

Also, you can add 1% fragrance oil or 1% essential oil to any of these into phase B

Shimmer Body Oil Base Formula;

phase A

6% oliwax LC
83.5% CCT (caprylic/capric triglyceride)

phase B

0.5% vitamin E
10% mica powder

Directions;

combine all ingredients in phase A in a heat safe container
heat phase A using a water bath. mix periodically while heating
once the oliwax LC is melted, remove from heat
add in vitamin E and desired mica powder into phase A and mix
let cool to room temperature while mixing periodically. you can cover and place in the fridge to cool faster
after a couple hours of being in the fridge pour into a dropper bottle of choice

Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient

oliwax LC - suspends mica powder in CCT and gives the body oil a bit of viscosity

CCT - carrier for mica powder. is a light-weight, clear, odorless, non-staining and non-greasy liquid oil. It is easily absorbed into skin making it an excellent carrier oil for massage oils and essential oils

mica - adds shimmer, glitter and pigment to body oil

vitamin E - antioxidant

Substitutions;

substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions.

oliwax - nothing I've tried has worked as well, but you can try a fatty acid, fatty alcohol or a waxy emulsifier instead. E.g. cetyl alcoho, stearic acid, cetearyl alchol, emulsifying wax NF, ritamulse SCG
CCT - any other emollient ester or natural oil. E.g. coco caprylate, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil (natural oils may feel to greasy and heavy)
mica - no sub
vitamin E - you can leave out
