Rich & Creamy Hair Conditioner (by; makingcosmetics.com)

Updated: May 13, 2022

I found this formula by makingcosmetics.com. I purchased a, new to me, ingredient from them called CreamMaker CAT and I figured the perfect way to test it out is by using one of their recipes featuring this ingredient.

Formula;

phase A

phase B

phase C

Directions;

  • begin by combining ingredients in phase A & combining ingredients in phase B in two separate beakers

  • heat both phases to 160f/50c and hold for 20 minutes.

  • while phase A & B are heating combine the distilled water and dl panthenol in phase C and mix until dissolved.

  • pour phase A into phase B and mix with high sheer

  • after phase A/B cool to 100f/40c pour in the water/dl panthenol mixture. Mix and then add in the rest of the ingredients in phase C

PH adjusting; I added in .1% of a 50/50 dilution of citric acid as the formula suggested (actually it just said citric acid, it didn't specify if it was a dilution or not, I just assumed it was) but it lowered the ph to 3.5 which is to low. You want 4-5.5. I then raised the ph to 5.4 using a different buffer solution. I'm not sure what the formulas natural ph is without citric acid, but I don't think you will need to adjust the ph. I should of taken the ph of the formula before I added the citric acid to see what the natural ph was. Sorry about that.
