Did you know the first person to produce a true chemical sunscreen was Eugéne Schueller, a French chemist and founder of L’Oreal. Frank Greiter, an Austrian chemist, was the first to develop the first truly effective sunscreen and developed the SPF (sun-protection factor) metric that is still used today.
