Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient

SCI powder - is the main ingredient needed to make bath whips. creates a very rich and creamy lather.

cocamidopropyl betaine - helps with lather and cleanses the skin. Used to dissolve the SCI into formula.

stearic acid - hardener and co emulsifier

lotionpro 165 - emulsifier

cocoa butter -high in fatty acids which makes it great for hydrating and nourising the skin. It can help dry irritated skin and improve elasticity. Cocoa butter is a very stable butter as it is full of antioxidants which prevents rancidity.

macadamia nut oil - emollient

sodium lactate liquid - humectant that hydrates skin

liquid germall plus - preservative

coffee grounds - exfoliant

Substitutions;

substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions.

  • SCI powder - any powdered surfactant like SLSA

  • cocamidopropyl betaine - any other liquid surfactant (if it has a high ph the ph will need lowered)

  • stearic acid - cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol

  • lotionpro 165 - instead of using stearic acid and lotionpro you can use emulsifying wax NF or ritamulse SCG or another waxy all in one emulsifier that also thickens

  • cocoa butter - another butter of choice.

  • macadamia nut oil - another oil of choice

  • sodium lactate - glycerin,1,3 propanedial, or propylene glycol

  • liquid germall plus - optiphen plus or another water soluble broad spectrum preservative

  • coffee grounds - no sub cause then it wouldn't be a latte scrub. If you don't care if it doesn't smell like coffee then you can use sugar, salt, jojoba beads, or walnut shell powder.
