Dragon Fruit Facial Serum Formula

Heated Water Phase

71.5% Distilled Water

10% Apple Fruit Essence

4% Glycerin

2% Panthenol

2% Niacinamide

.5% Allantoin

Cool Down Phase

2% Siligel

4% Leucidal SF Complete

4% Dragon Fruit Extract

Directions

Use a digital scale that weighs to 0.01 grams and measure out your heated water phase ingredients. I combined my ingredients in a 50ml glass beaker. Once all your heated water ingredients are weighed out take the weight of your water phase including the weight of the beaker. Take note of this weight. We will be heating the water phase up and when you do this some water will evaporate, so we will need to replace any water that has evaporated. We are heating up the water phase to help dissolve the powdered ingredients. Now place your beaker in a water bath and heat to 158 degrees fahrenheit and hold for 20 minutes. Keep track of the temperature using a temperature gun. Once 20 minutes has passed, remove from heat and weigh your formulation and replace any water that has been evaporated.

While your formulation is still hot add in the siligel and mix using a micro mini mixer or immersion blender. If you are only making a small amount like I did, a micro mini mixer is best. After mixing you will notice the formulation turns an opaque light tan color. You will have to let it sit for about 48 hours so it can turn to a clear transparent gel. In the mean time you can go ahead and add the rest of your cool down ingredients once the formulation has returned to room temperature. Give it one last good mix to make sure everything is well combined. Now that everything has been mixed together, cover your beaker with aluminum foil or some plastic wrap and let it sit for 48 hours so it can turn to a clear transparent gel. After 48 hours it should be a nice clear gel consistency. Now It's time to package your serum up. I used a .5 oz glass dropper bottle to store my serum in.

Apple Fruit Essence - 1.5 grams

Glycerin - .6 grams

Panthenol - .3 grams

Niacinamide - .3 grams

Allantoin - .07 grams

Cool Down Phase

Leucidal SF Complete - .6 grams

Dragon Fruit Extract - .6 grams

Siligel - .3 grams
