Coco Betaine and Cocamidopropyl Betaine are not the same thing

Coco Betaine and Cocamidopropyl betaine are two different ingredients. I mentioned this in a recent video, but wanted to make a dedicated post on it.

It’s a common misconception that coco betaine is just the shortened name for cocamidopropyl betaine, but it’s actually a completely different amphoteric surfactant. The shortened name for cocamidopropyl betaine is CAPB. I’ve made this mistake myself, so hopefully this helps clear things up. Sorry for any confusion on this.
