Charcoal Tea Tree Face Wash - Oily/Acne Prone skin

Formula;
phase A
3% glycerin
phase B
77.65% distilled water
.5% charcoal powder
phase C
.3% tea tree oil
10% aos 40
Directions;
combine ingredients in phase A to create a slurry
combine all ingredients in phase B in a separate beaker and mix until aloe powder dissolves
add phase B phase A and mix until thickened
combine all ingredients in phase C except for the AOS 40 and mix. Then add in the AOS 40 and mix again.
Add phase C into phase A/B and mix
check and balance ph
Note; natural ph was 8.39 I added 5 drops of my 50% diluted solution of citric acid and got the ph down to 5.12
Benefits/Purpose of each ingredient
xanthan gum clear - thickens face wash
glycerin - humectant that hydrates skin
liquid germall plus - preservative
henna extract - has cooling and soothing properties. It also provides anti-microbial an oil absorbing properties which makes it perfect for oily acne prone skin.
charcoal powder - is said to help with acne, balance oil production, and unclog pores
aloe vera powder 200x - soothing, adds moisture, helps acne, and wrinkles
AOS 40 - anionic surfactant that cleanses the skin and rids skin of oil and dirt
tea tree oil - is an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial that can help with acne
coco glucoside - nonionic surfactant that helps with solubilizing the tea tree oil and helps products lather to cleanse the skin of oil and dirt
Substitutions;
substituting ingredients will change the final feel, viscosity, and overall effect of final product. percentages and formulating procedure may need to change with substitutions.
xanthan gum clear - xanthan gum soft or crothix
glycerin - 1,3 propanedial, propylene glycol, or sodium PCA
liquid germall plus - optiphen plus or another water soluble broad spectrum preservative
henna extract - any extract of choice
aloe vera powder 200x - aloe vera liquid or aloe vera powder 100x
charcoal powder - no sub
tea tree oil - no sub
coco glucoside - decyl glucoside
AOS 40 - any liquid anionic surfactant of choice, foaming apple, foaming soy, foaming oats, plantapon LGC sorb, ammonium lauryl sulfate (ALS), disodium laureth sulfosuccinate (DLS)
